STUDIO
For many years my studio was where my school was. The studio moved with the school to new locations in search of better conditions for classes. Each change of location meant transporting the growing "belongings" of the school and the increasing number of paintings.
I was always guided by the need to provide optimal working conditions for my students, not for myself. I did not feel the need to set aside a separate place for my work. Anyway, it would not have been possible, because these activities permeated each other.
I painted before and after class, in between. Everything was in one place: scripts, notes, projects, materials for work, books, catalogs, audiovisual equipment, paints, brushes, drawing boards, easels, my paintings, and lots of students works by the walls. Everyone used everything. The only necessary criterion for my large format paintings was the height of the rooms in the next, studio space. Now that school is over, I work from home. This has its advantages - this is the solution I adopted, after all.
The comfort of the house and a good cup of tea "on hand" are important positives of such a solution.
